All over social media, I am seeing topics about boycotting Stardoll...
What are your thoughts on the subject? Are you planning on doing it? What are the pro's and cons and do you think it would even make a difference?
I have mixed feelings about it. I understand people's reason's behind it and don't totally disagree. A lot of people are unhappy. A lot of people have had their accounts that they invested a bunch of money into deleted. Some say it was for no reason at all, but who knows what the real truth is unless they are willing to show their correspondence with Stardoll. Regardless of all that people want change.. and the only way for that to happen is is we band together. That is true, but will it actually have an impact. Stardoll might see some small demise in sales, but think of how many people in countries all over the world actually play and shop on Stardoll.
In my opinion, the majority of the players all over the world would have to stand together and I just don't see that happening. The blogs and social media community only make up such a small number in the grand scheme of things.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it really affecting Stardoll's bottom line. Also, even if it does.. will that truly help or hurt us? I mean realistically Stardoll is still going through a transitional stage. They are struggling to stay afloat. If we do boycott and that is enough to affect them financially...where would that leave all of us? Possibly with Stardoll shutting it's doors for good and us without the accounts that we have invested so much in.
