FASHION CHALLENGE FINAL DAY: FANCY DRESSES FOR DAYTIME



DAY 3

Three days of fashion challenges, Three days of winners. 
Every day you will be required to complete a different challenge. 

$100sd prize given out for each day!

You must compete in all three days or you will not qualify to win.

 Last day to enter: August 17, 2014 12:00pm
FRIDAY (DAY 3):  Wear a fancy (special occassion/formal) dress and re-work it for daytime.
I love this idea! It's a great way to not let all those gorgeous dresses go to waste. Why only get one wearing out of them?! It's also a great budget saver! The challenge to wearing a fancy dress for daytime is keeping the look tasteful.

Tips & Tricks

  • Consider a chic layering piece. A great way to tone down a party dress for day is to add a casual jacket or shirt. If a jacket is too predictable, try a cardigan or your comfiest flannel.
  • Find an alternative for your favorite heels. You need to make your look more daytime friendly so ditch the heels. Instead go for something more fun like sandals, sneakers, boots, flats or oxfords.
  • Just go for it. Don’t hold back, throw caution to the wind and go for it!

    This challenge was very complicated because I have many interpretations about how looks a "fancy dress". E.g. My first choice works without any change for daytime so I was confused. At the end I got 2 options but finally I decided for this one.

    This concept confuses me a bit :/ Like what does it even mean??? It can be interpreted so many ways!


    But anyway! Here is my interpretation of what it means, I took it to be creating an outfit that I could wear everyday - and since it's WINTER here that means I need layers!


    I used the Denim Fringe Dress from Bonjour Bizou, with a Nelly belt and shoes, a Deisel jacket, and Voile clutch.

    hope this dress I used is fancy enough! I thought it was quite hard to make it look more casual since it's golden,that's why I chose it :p

    I picked purple dress. It is perfect for cocktail party, but I wanted to make it appropriate for day. I styled it with biker vest, jacket and some pink and blue accessories. Smiliuxxx

    i have no problem with this one... i tend to wear dresses all the time. So i Choose a dress that by itself is quite formal.. so i turn it into a lovable maxidress + Sweater Combo Look!

    I decided to wear a sparkly skirt and transparent top as office attire.
    To go from day to night just take off the socks and coat, pull hair back and enjoy happy hour!!!

    I used one of the free cocktail dresses in my storage, put a free sweatshirt over it and made the dress a miniskirt, I added a pair of matching converse, a bag and a flower crown to make it more "every day"

    I have used the wonderful LE maxi as my piece.

    The first picture is the evening wear,for something fancy.
    In the second picture,it is personalized,and made casual with the help of the ELLE blazer.

    Used A Nelly long 3/4 sleeve white dress. <3 I love the dress anyway! I did it up in a formal and casual way. I thought the casual look would be great for a school day or a walk in the park, with some flats it's even more adorable. This is so my challenge because I love formal dresses but never know how to make them look more casual, one of the only ways I know is adding a leather jacket, or a jean jacket. :) Flats or sneakers of TOMS instead of heels. <3

    This had to be my favorite challenge!
    I loved this outfit so much, that I saved it in my suite.
