  2. I recently shared with you guys my passion for visual art in SMW's got talent, which would be like my little treasure, so this time I'll show you my favourite place to think: the beach. Everytime I need to take big decisions, I go there. I'm a really REALLY (xD) nervous person, and only being near the beach/port/anything similar calms me down. And my hometown has really beautiful beaches, so that makes it even better :)

This is something special to me. A lot of things are in this pic. It was taken from my boyfriends boat and we can see my home town Split. I love my town, summer, sea and everything that goes with it. I lived in capital of Croatia Zagreb for 3 years and now i am finally back to my town, enjoying festivals, good food, swimming and freedom that only home can give you :)

  5. You're so lucky to do that!!! :D I love being at the seaside but I get the chance to go there only 1-2 times a year :(

  6. Ok I have two for this.
    1) My magic bands from Disney World. Disney is my life, when i'm not there, I am planning my next trip. It all I ever talk about, oops. I have an annual pass, so I go a lot. This is also from the past year (last October to be exact) I have gone back 3 times since then. I also have a trip for the end of August :) ºoº
    2) My Kim Kardashian Hollywood game. I've lost countless hours of sleep playing this game to hold my #1 spot that I worked for ahahaha

  7. Disney *.* I wish I could go there more often!

  8. I only need to walk 10 minutes from home to get to the beach, so you should visit me here in Spain :D

    Here's mine.
There are so many things that are important to me, but I'm just going to choose one. I chose the one that inspired my username in the first place: books. For as long as I can remember, I've loved to read. I started reading early in my life and never stopped. This is a picture of my bookshelf. Besides my books, it has several other things that mean a lot to me. On the top, are some paper dolls that my best friend's little sister (I've known the sister since her birth) made for my birthday. Second shelf is my beautiful (I think so at least) cactus Oliver. Third shelf is my jewelry including at least one heirloom and several pieces of great importance to me (the triceratops is a very long inside joke). The unseen forth shelf just has a bunch of art work and supplies. All in all, I think I will always love my books, they take me to all the places I'll probably never go and let me experience things that I'll probably never experience. :)

  19. Every year my school's media art's department would host a trip to New York City. I always dreamt of going to this place, but my family didn't have enough money for me to go. During my senior year, without me knowing, my parents saved up money for me to go on the New York trip with my fellow classmates. I was ecstatic! The reason that they saved up was because they wanted me to have the best time of my life, before I head university and get a freshmen 15 (yes...they know what it is). Ahahaha! This photo of Time Square is a reminder of my parents love and support. Always there for me when times get tough and making sure my brother and I are always happy. I'm so grateful to have these wonderful people in my life. <3 I'm planning a family trip to NYC in the future.

The photo acts as another reminder of the memories I made throughout high school, I got asked to prom in NYC! New York City contains so many wonderful memories, many of which I will cherish forever.

  21. My friends & Family and truly special to me but for obvious reasons I can't post a pic.

  22. First, I'm sorry for the poor quality of the photo - it was taken with my phone. This is ZOO in Ljubljana, capital city of my country. Sometimes I work as a volunteer. That means that I can go in certain enlosures while the animals are still there - as were these zebras. And even though zebras aren't my favourite animals, I really like this photo.

  23. this is a photo in Crete the biggest island of Greece. It's in Chania , one of the beautiful cities of Crete! I'm in love with this town ! I would like to live here in my whole life......The first time I have there was for holidays and I was 8 years old and when my holidays ended I was crying because I didn't want to leave....All the island of Crete is wonderful , it is a paradise for me , it's a real dream!!!!

  24. So these two are the things that mean a lot to me. They are both presents from my boyfriend. The amethyst used to be a beautiful necklace which was a christmas present. ( it's special because when my bf gave it to me I said "omg it's absolutely beautiful" and he said "maybe but not as beautiful as you" and etc:p). Anyway, the Triquetra was a birthday present and it's special because I heard that in contemporary Ireland, it is traditional for a man to give a loved one a trinket such as a necklace or ring (with a triquetra) signifying his affection towards her.The triquetra is believed to represent the three promises of a relationship such as to love, honour, and protect! Of course there are many other things or places that are special to me too but I love this romance that these two express. :D

One thing that is important to me, as cheesy as it sounds, are my fandoms. They are my saviours and are something within me that I truly love.
Harry Potter has been with me from the very beginning and will be until the very end - the morals and lessons JK Rowling put into those books hit me hard and the emotions and feels over the characters lost and loved in the series she poured her heart and soul into really connect with me. People say that 'its not real' but honestly its real for us, us potterheads and fangirls. It has brought me some of the best of friends, picked me up when i'm down and given me something I can learn and connect with. However young or old I know that Hogwarts will always be there to welcome me home and everytime I delve further into the record-breaking fandom I feel such a great sense of pride and joy that the magic is still alive.
To stop me from Boring you with more heartfelt feelsy paragraphs I'll just leave Starkid and Sherlock for another day but they are still just as special. Harry Potter was my first fandom and will forever hold close as the gateway to more lovely, brilliant people from other fandoms which I soon joined. Starkid and Sherlock are two fandoms that I love, and I get all the same feels from them as Harry Potter. Sherlock pulls on my heartstrings in so many ways and makes me feel accepted for the geeky grammar school girl I am and Starkid teaches me to forget about all my haters and be supermegafoxyawesomehot however I am. I'll stop here before I get too obsessed and write pages and pages but yeah, thesefandoms will always hold a special place n my heart. ♥

  34. My books! I read a lot and my book collection is very special to me :) I have older greek books which I "inherited" from my grandmother, she was the reason I learned to love reading, and also new books I bought recently. At the moment I have around 400 , but I have't read them all yet! I 'm very strict when it comes to my books, I have an organisation system and a full list of them written down. Noone is allowed to borrow unless I know and I can be a very annoying pesron if they keep them for too long or never give them back:/

  35. Whenever I see a large library I melt right on spot! My late grandfather left me his extensive collection of almost 2 000 tomes but I have no place to store them at my apartment so for the time being they are still at his house. I only took my favourites to keep at my place and for now I keep my bookshelf colour coordinated because that's the only way the variate of old and new books looks good.

Okay, this is my favourite photo I ever took.
I snapped it while on holiday in Italy, in Florence. It was on the main square, next to the famous statue of David.
There was a wedding there and the bride was posing for a photographer when suddenly this cute little boy ran in...
It was such a cute moment and I was so happy when I saw the photo I managed to take of them!
It's still one of my favourite pictures.

  40. I love my family very much but the two most special people in my life are my boyfriend and my late grandfather. In a very different way the two of them helped me grow and evolve and they both shaped the person I am today. My granddad was this bigger than life figure who was faced with great difficulties because of his political views in the socialist past of my country. He had an enormous appreciation of the arts and he collected books and artworks and he willed both of these collections to me. He was librarian and for as long as I could remember I've been surrounded by books and thanks to him I could read at age 5. He was also a writer but unfortunately only one of his books was ever published. It is my great hope that one day I'll mange to get the rest his works published as well. He passed away when a month after I turned 14 and I took it pretty hard. To this day amongst my most cherished possessions are a picture of him holding my as a baby and a small silver cross pendant he and my grandmother give to me for my 14th birthday. (both are shown on the last picture)
Only one other person has had such an impact on my life and that's my boyfriend. We got together when we were seventeen and this September we're celebrating our 5th anniversary. Together we passed the threshold of adulthood and made each other a little bit better.
I keep most of the things he has given me in a beautiful wooden box but I took them out to show them to you guys. I've numbered the items on the first picture so I could share a little bit more about each one: 1. This is probably the one thing I love the most and if I had to chose just one most special ting in my life this probably would be it. This notebook is something we both write in and it contains everything from photographs, quotes from our favourite books, love letters, tickets from concerts and movies we've seen together, lists of things we want to do and places we want to visit, maps both of real life places and from fictitious worlds, drawings and photoshop manipulations, ect. You can see a few open pages on the second photo I've posted. 2. Tickets we still haven't added to the above mentioned notebook. 3. A Paris guidebook I received for our 4th anniversary with the promise we'll go there later that year. 4. A collection of French music. 5. My diary, which was his first gift to me ever. 6. Another very special notebook. This one is filled with handwritten romantic poems and sonnets. It took him a month to finish it and you can see the first two pages of the Content on the third photo. 7. The Soundtrack to my favourite animated movie - Anastasia. 8. Vintage collection of Venice postcards. 9. A bunch of little things given to be just because. 10. Photographs (I never get around to framing these, no idea why!). The last special thing is a ring a never take off. You can see two of them on the first and the second picture. Both I and my boyfriend wear them - they are replicas of The One Ring from the Lord of the Rings and we got them the first month me stared dating.

  41. I'll not post any photo, but i wanna tell you what is the most important thing for me. Of course my family is, but since i knew my boyfriend my life truly changed, i love him so much. We are together for 2 years now, he is my bestfriend and my all! He makes my life so much better, all the little things he does mean so much to me, breakfest in bed, flowers, chocolates, saying that loves me everyday....my family and him are the most important things in my life! I don't care about the material stuff, phones and computers break, family doesn't.

  43. This stuffed toy is the most special thing I own, I can't sleep without it! My grandpa gave it to me for Christmas and three months after that holiday, he died of cancer. Some people make fun of me when I show them this toy cat, but I guess that's what you get for having it even though your fifteen. Every time I hold it, I remember the wonderful times I had with my grandpa and all the things he had done for me. This was such a great contest and I feel that the people who participated are friends of mine that I had for years! I wish everyone good luck ♥ -cutevenice188

  48. Thanks so much. I really loved the house, and was kinda heart broken when they sold it. I had so many photos of it and what it was like. I wish I could share them all. I love the new house as well... but it's not the same. haha. I have so many great memories. I also used to tie all my grandma's head scarves together and lover my barbies down from the second floor onto the main one. haha XD they were knotted so bad, I have no idea how we got them untangled. I also used to use the spotlights they had for their photos in the living room... I'd change the position so it was on the empty space in the living room and dance like I was on a Broadway production (probably something like grease to give you a visual!). Thanks to my grandma... who played old time music and sang and danced with me when I was really little. haha XD
I hope so too. :) He's not feeling too well, but they stopped his radiation and put him on a chemo you take in a pill form at home. I'm hoping it won't make him feel too much worse :\

  49. Also here's the stairs (the stairs to the basement are the next set underneath these) and the closet I used to play in. I tried to find a photo of the old tree but couldn't seem to find one. haha <3 I also found these photos I took from outside the windows in sequim into the kitchen. <3 These two lovebirds have been together for over 60 years! :D

I want something like that! I usually only borrow books from the library instead of buying them because I wouldn't know who to keep them all in my room. But your collection looks amazing, and that's definetively the first thing I will do when I get my own apartment!

    ReplyDelete
  57. 2000 tomes? Color coordinated? That's the most amazing thing I've ever heard, I want to steal your collection :p

    ReplyDelete
  58. I have a library that covers entirely one wall of my room and it's almost full now! My dream is to have someday a different room for my books :) I used to borrow books too, but I still ended up buying them after I returned them because I use to read a book more than once :p

    ReplyDelete
  59. No, the larger collection, which is still at my grandfather's is organized in an insanely complicated system: By country, genre, author and year. Additionally in the 70s and 80s Bulgarian publishing houses used to release packs of books by different authors connected by a theme, for example classical literature or the masters of science fictions. Those series have similar covers and they have to stay together on the shelve no matter that the authors varied in origin.
Had that collection been colour coordinated it would've been impossible to find anything plus it wouldn't have looked all that well.
In my current apartment I have very small bookshelf (compared to the 5 large ones in my granddad's place) and on it I only keep my personal favourites from his collection (Some Bulgarian poetry, The Count of Monte Cristo, Pride and Prejudice, ect,), all the new books I constantly buy, a bunch of dictionaries and the textbooks I need at the university. All in all 300 books. I used to organise like my grandfather did - by genre, country, author, ect but they were so different in size that they looked as if they were not organised at all. Hence I tried a few other arrangements but the only one that looked good as the colour coordinated one.
Now, it is a bit annoying that I have Kurt Vonnegut on four different shelves but luckily I have good visual memory and I always remember where everything is.
