STARDOLL GETS A D- FROM THE BBB! :O

My mom flipped out again. Don't know if it will do any good, but she got a response...

Kinda bullsh!t because they are basically saying that if you get hacked for ANY reason they are not responsible!
It's interesting to me that Stardoll thinks just because you were to inadvertantly click on a phishing link or something that they are blameless.

THEY ARE THE REASON ANY OF THIS HAPPENS.

They created this world, with their exclusive prizes that everyone wants and high end expensive items. If everything were reasonable, SS memberships weren't expensive, everything was released in the stores and not rare...there would be no need for people to hack others.. How can they not accept some of the blame.

Anyway, I still think it is time for a change. People have many good ideas to improve security and to make things less wanted. I know that LE is coming out soon and I wish we could all be strong enough to hold out, but without everyone together it would never work.

Interestingly enough this is BBB rating on Stardoll.

D-! Not very good. Practically failing in customer service...this company we give our money too.

BBB's opinion states


"We find nothing about this company that would serve as any recommendation to do business with it. Although something about its business principals or practices keeps it just above our lowest rating, it has far more negative than positive factors. We recommend extreme caution in doing business with it"


I can not believe that this is what Stardoll wants their reputation to be!!!


WHAT DO YOU THINK OF STARDOLL'S RESPONSE AND THEIR BBB RATING.

Regardless of what happens I still want to fight for changes for others!


BTW below you can see what the hacker stole. I think they recycled a few and sold most. I just wanted to post this so I had a record for myself.

  7. I'm dissappointed but not surprised that the BBB gave Stardoll such a low rating. I looked at the list of things you lost. If I had collected any of these I would sell you one for 1SD to help you recover your collection. I don't collect rares so I'm no help there...sigh! I plan to contact SD and ask them to step up their security measures.

  10. I'm kinda agreeing with nojarama right now, Its terrible how they treat their customers and I am really not liking being part of the group of people who pays this company when all they do is treat us badly.
    I guess I can only say don't buy rares or LE, there are only a few slightly rare items in my suite and I've never traded with anyone for something valuable so I dont think I'm at risk of being hacked.

    Its terrible how they pretty much accuse you of either giving out your password or say its your fault for going on a phishing webite.

  12. I hate the fact that you pay a lot of money for X reason (to be a DKNY first season collector), and then you got hacked and you contact with Stardoll and they dont care a sh1t, they just wash their hands and pretend that never happend.
    So they must return all your stolen rares or your money back :S

    Your staff has always been so helpful to me that I wish to voice a concern on behalf of another SD member who has had her account viciously hacked and her collection of rares stolen. She currently runs a very popular blog and is a strong contributor to the Stardoll community. Having worked on virtual computer games myself, I know that unless you have completely deleted the rare items from your files, it is not a big deal to replace virtual items. I know this young lady is very cautious in her dealings and would not carelessly expose her account to hackers. Please reconsider replacing her stolen items and seriously consider looking into upgrading your security measures. You have a world wide fan base that is worth spending some time and effort to protect and encourage to continue playing Stardoll. You can bring up that BBB D- score with a little effort on your part. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

    Jenna, I believe if you created a campaign for better security on stardoll, you'd have many people on your side.Enough to make stardoll sit up and notice.

    I will be messaging stardoll about all of this. I really hope something can be done about stardoll's crappy customer service and security and that everything you have owned on stardoll can be recovered and returned to you.

I completely agree with you here, they are willing to look for ways of taking money from us (ss) or wasting time on their site (non-ss) but yet when you have a problem or complaint they are reluctant to help. This was another reason I never supported starbazaar open to all. I said it would end up affecting us in different ways & this is one of them. The hacking would now increase because there is an increase in number of those who can buy & transfer items from starbazaar.

    I can understand how upset & angry you feel after spending so much time & money & you even have a blog which promotes the site. It's so stupid, I wish they respected us more.

    I joined stardoll the same time as other similar sites & this does not occur because everyones the same. Although I think it may happen in future because the main problem here is jealousy. People who join stardoll want all the items older members have either free or at a very low price.

    And for the person who did this or those who are thinking of doing something similar, what an evil & wicked thing to do. You are practically stealing what someone else has sacrificed for. What a shame & disgrace stooping so low as stealing virtual clothes. Why can't you be satisfied with what you can afford. I don't have any LE or collectors item & I'm satisfied with that. This is so stupid! What a shame!

  31. Sorry to do this anonymously to you, I feel absolutely awful for doing this but I just have to tell you I know how this happened, the account the clothing was sold to were a middle account. Most of your items were sold on to the actual hacker and her main account but others were given to her friends and unfortunately recycled, I can't tell you her name, all I can tell you is that she is Turkish and she got your password by using a key logger virus, she entered a competition you run and when you clicked the link it gave her access to everything you typed over a period of time, it won't even register as a virus or intrusion because all it does is downloads a cookie which would look innocent to all anti-virus softwear.

    I admit I have used this before, I helped hack somebody who you all know and I am not proud of it, I do not hack or scam any more and I promise I had nothing to do with this hacking but you were and are targeted because you run competitions and click links during this process. You were sadly an easy target, I hope you manage to get your clothing back, but the girl who took it will not give it back, she is so pleased with herself. She took to MSN to gloat in a group conversation.

Also to continue, there is a way around selling more than 10 items per day, I again do not wish to tell you which program, I innocently use it to sell more in my Bazaar, but basically it cheats Stardoll into thinking 24 hours have passed since your last sale and therefore allows you to carry on selling.

  33. The 10 items per day hack is easily achieved, all you need is one program, it was made for Facebook games with time limits, like sorority life, it simply tricks your Internet into thinking the time zone you are in is another country.

  35. Did anyone notice most of these items were sold in one day (24th), I thought you couldn't sell more than 20 items from one account so how did this happen? Stardoll whose fault is that? And I'm sure the hacker wasn't fast enough on some occassions beccause other people bought some of those items. People join stardoll & expect to get every item that was sold when they were not members or items they can't afford.

    So how many victims like you have stardoll ignored? I'm sure they'll do something about your case because it's posted on a blog but what of all the other hacked victims and what hope is there for the rest of us?

    Dear stardoll, I'm sure that you've heard of EMOROX4EVA being hacked, and thank-you for giving her account back... But can you PLEASE give her stolen items back!!! Or at least give her the amount of stardollars back to her which she spent on them. It also says on Stardolls Most Wanted ( The site that she writes on ) that she has NEVER given out her password, went onto phising sites, etc and have you seen your safety rating on BBB, its a D-! Is this really what you want your site to be known for? Children spending their own pocket money on a site that will not help us in out future at all, and not giving their items back? I am starting to think that all you care about is the " Fame and Fortune" and not the friends. I will not spend anymore money on this site, until you give her the items back!

  49. Not having rares will just make Stardoll boring. I'm sorry, but I go on Stardoll for the Starbazaar. The selling and the buying. You don't like rares? Don't own them.
    I do agree that Stardoll needs to have better security but you guys need to realize that ways to hack accounts will just evolve. There is no way of escaping it besides making sure you're 100% safe in your actions!
    Also, it's funny how this blog is about rares but once someone stole yours, you all of the sudden have a different stance on the site. :/

And stardoll deserve such a low rating, they are obsessed with taking our money, constantly raising prices so we purchase more stardollars, yet do not offer solutions for users like us. I also contacted stardoll about getting my old account back with a reference code and all they replied was 'Thank you PopStarKizzle for your feedback/suggestion. It is much appreciated.' -.-

  56. Even if stardoll's security isn't so good, you probably did log on in an unsecured wireless network or something and they're not to blame for that. I think you should do more research before you flip out on things and tell everyone about it so that also everyone else flips out. It's also kinda not fair on stardoll because now they have even more to deal with because all of the other members on stardoll are overreacting as well. I mean the situation would have probably be handled better if it was just between you, your mom and a couple of friends. Hopefully you kinda get what I mean?

    This is coming from someone who has been on stardoll for years and actually has an idea of what she's talking about.

Stardoll actually sort of deserves to get a D- rating from BBB (I thought you meant Burn Book Bitch at first lol :D), they don't give a shit about us, especially the Superstars, who have worked hard on their accounts and spent their real money on it. Stardoll lets them get exclusive access to all these special eyes and lips and skin sliders, but they don't really care about the actual accounts and security system. They need to get their heads out of the clouds and accept that they are also responsible for hacked accounts - improve the security system, take safety precautions, improve the whole Stardoll system so that it prevents viruses or dangerous links or whatever.

    People are really gonna quit this site if they keep this up, and they're gonna end up with a dramatic downfall.

  62. Bluebuff1 the reason she is doing this is to inform us of what has also been happening to other members. From the pictures she showed us we can see the number of items transferred from her account. She makes competitions for members of her blog & has a blog that promotes the stardoll website, this is just a slap in the face for all the time & money spent. It's just not about one person here it's about all of us & if we don't unite & co-operate this will keep happening & anyone of us could be victims here. This is not just about buying rares or expensive items it is also about someone wanting an item that was available before they joined stardoll. I suggest stardoll makes all these free gifts they give out available for every country so there would be no need to use a proxy. Jenna I think you should stop or minimise the competitions that involves links & too much contact with people. Stardoll don't care leave the competitions to them, you've been too nice.

  65. Bluebuff1 it's fair on stardoll because they want us to spend time & money on their site & when there's a problem they want nothing to do with it. Blogs are there to inform us of what actually goes on. The messages she's shown us shows they don't care not just about her but all of us. This is not something to be kept private it affects us all it's not just about her. Can you imagine how it must feel after spending so much time & money? I wish stardoll would appreciate us all a bit more. Jenna make a lot of noise & if nothing happens, sue them!

    I truly believe that if all of who read any of these blogs that are talking about the lack or REAL security on SD were to write similar letters, they would sit up and take notice

    Also, I wasn't really surprised to see their D- rating from the Better Business Bureau. What a shame.

  72. First off as a Parent and user of Stardoll, I know the frustration is extreme with Stardoll's Customer Service. They have none unfortunately. I feel SO SO bad for you loosing those RARE items. I hope and pray SD will get them back for you. I'm also glad you went to BBB, I have in the past as well and quite frankly didn't get very far, other then them telling me to "BEWARE OF STARDOLL SITE" and to use at my own risk. So that too didn't get me anywhere. My son's account got hacked it took so long to get it back, by then all the money was spent, back then they didn't have the SB, thank goodness. Anyhow, KEEP UP THE SUPER GREAT WORK you do on here, you seem like a VERY BRIGHT,SMART young lady. HUGS for your loss - Adult user: orange008

  73. You may want to try a VIRTUAL KEYBOARD when logging onto your account or when running the Competitions you run. A key-logger CANNOT POSSIBLY get anything from a VIRTUAL KEYBOARD. As a adult paying bills online, I use mine all the time for that and ordering stuff online. HOWEVER, I think I will now use it on Stardoll as well. If you have KASPERSKY VIRUS SOFTWARE, it includes the Virtual Keyboard with just one click a screen appears with a keyboard and you click on the letters/number instead of the hardware Keyboard we all use.     Your accounts are safe on Stardoll as long as you don't give out your password to anyone (not even Stardoll staff!). You can easily lose items or an account by revealing or trading passwords, reference numbers, changing your email to scam email addresses or entering your password on phishing sites.

    Stardoll can NOT be held responsible for the contents of your account if you reveal your password on other websites or in any other communication. So keep your passwords safe, ok?

  79. I got hacked a few days ago too! It's so stupid that stardoll don't take responsibility.
    My hacker recycled most of my shoes, all my hanbdags, and a lot of my designs. Stardoll emailed me saying "No recycled items can be recovered" I think that is complete BS!
    Stardoll really need to get their act together!

  83. Ok, I just sent an idea to stardoll about pin codes, i.e they would be asked when we buy/sell items, delete account, save suite, recyle. The pin code would be created by us, and could only be retrieved by answering a personal question: i.e: What was your first pets name?. It would be optional to those who want to be safe. With this pin code, the hacker wouldn't be able to recyle, buy anything, sell our rares, make our suite a mess or even delete our account. If you like this message, then please send it to stardoll.

  85. I know no one wants to say this so I will. Another issue is all these PROXY'S like to get a free shirt or necklace etc. The 1st time i went through a proxy to get a free item, it gave me a trojan virus and nearly wiped out everything but I immediatly caught it and my 1st stop was to stardoll and i changed all my info to protect myself. I usually stay away from all those 'free' items unless its SD approved.

    i've had to start all over twice from being hacked and i never gave out my passoword.
    Its total bs.
    they don't realize that someone doesnt have to give out a password or stay logged on to get hacked. it just happens.
    And stardoll should be there to help instead and leaving their customers to fix it all up with even MORE money.
