Black leather + brown leather

Hello dear readers,

I wrote this post due to the comments of the previous post about black and brown leather. There were a lot of opinions stated, some of them agreeing, others disagreeing.
And I started thinking about the ones who disagreed and I thought that they had a point. You're right - you DO fashion yourself. But please don't take me wrong, I was just showing some examples that should not be an influence for you.
I also saw some comments saying that the outfits were ugly, but if I try I can make beautiful outfits with black and brown leather. So, I tried and I made it. Look at the picture:

I mixed a black leather jacket with brown leather bag and boots and it looks okay, I guess.
But remember: fashion does not have rules. You make your own rules, influenced by fashion designers (or not - some are influenced by life, simply). I was just trying to give you a clue about what isn't fashion. But, as I learned, it also depends on the clothes you're wearing.

What do you think about this? Leave your comment stating your opinion :)

What I used:
-Stardoll sweater 5$
-Fallen angel leather jacket 12$
-Stardoll plush scarf 5$
-Miss Sixty trousers 22$
-Rio brown leather boots 5$
-Hot buys brown leather bag 7$

  2. Nice combo. I like that look and would maybe wear that in real life. Looks a little what I know someone would wear.

  5. @ VampireLady33/Milena

I agree with you, tough. I just decided to look at the other's opinions and find a way they could match.

  9. See, this is much better. :)
When I said that outfits were horrible, I knew you were trying to make them look horrible and you can make them look great if you want to. :)

  13. I like it! The only that I don't like is the bag. Another brown bag would look better. The style of the bag does not fit the style of the outfit. Better I understand what you are saying.

  16. I would like to raise a point here.
What exactly defines fashion? This goes back to the main question: what is fashion?
Currently, with many upcoming designers, we are able to see a variety of styles and fashions. But who decides what is fashionable or not?
For example, in art, a piece of white canvas can be categorised by some people as art. However to others, it can be seen as utter nonsense.
Coming back to fashion, wearing black and brown together may not be seen as fashionable in your eyes, but to others, it may be considered as the epitome of fashion.
After reading it, I was quite unsatisfied with the way you presented your post.

  17. Furthermore, your fashion taste is defined by many factors, such as your background or upbringing. Your influences may propel you to think that black and brown make a horrible combination.
Nevertheless, as we all come from different backgrounds, we may not all think that this is such a "horrible" combination after all.
Your post previously generalised everyone. Just because you felt that black and brown do not suit, it doesn't mean that everyone supports it.
Please do think more critically next time before posting such appalling comments about "what not to wear".

  18. Although this outfit is better, I have to agree with whomever it was that said the purse and boots don't quite match. To me, in order to make the two leather colors work, black and brown should both be present in the base of the outfit. Unfortunately, I cannot find an example in my closet, but I tried.

    This has certainly been interesting!!

  19. I like this outfit. I think you CAN wear brown & black together, it just has to be done right and I think you did a good job with this outfit.

  20. Update: I now have on some kind of outfit trying to combine brown and black leather. Not the best, but it's an example. I'm ready for my beating!!! LOL!
