Alexander McQueen S 11
What we've all been waiting for... The first collection from Alexander McQueen -without- Alexander McQueen. In stead we got to see a very inspirational collection from Sarah Burton, the woman who worked with Alexander for over 15 years. I have to say, I'm not at all disapointed. I liked the collection, it's more of art than fashion in my eyes. It's really just beautiful artworks, things to look at than what at least I would wear. I picked out my favorite looks (As usual) from this Spring RTW 2011 Collection from Alexander McQueen:
Tell me your thoughts on the collection and what did you think, did Sarah Burton keep the spirit of Alexander? Did she carry on his legacy in the right way? I do believe she did.
Though I have to say I did not really fancy the hairdo's.. hah!
Have a look at the whole collection at: style.com

The detailing were ah-mazing!
Sorry if all the pictures look all weird..Gaaah! I'm seriously gettin' crazy on Blogger..
About something else.. I'm releasing my magazine Donna's fall issue very soon and I was just wondering, is their anyone who would be interested in coming to a release-party? :) Just curious!
I could probably wear some of the clothes, but I really appreciate shoes. I think it's the same Alexander spirit, nice pieces of art. By the way, it's a great job.
ReplyDeleteIt's very good!
ReplyDelete:D
Ohh.I miss him :(
ReplyDeleteI like the clothes but most shoes !
ReplyDeleteThey are awesome !
Hm..not bad, really! But the old McQueen essence aint there :S
ReplyDeletei would love to go to an realise party! i love donna
ReplyDeleteThis made me cry... In my opinion, even if they would create something BEAUTIFUL, I would'nt like it, because it will never be the same without him.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous collection, clearly Sarah was the best for the job. I was practically leaping with excitement when Anthony sent me the images a couple of days ago. I have to say, the butterflies bursting from the collar was magnificent. The hair is AH-MAZE-ING (though maybe not for this particular show). If I had the time and patience, I'd do it myself :D
ReplyDeleteAlso, 'cause of the spring/nature theme, I think it's kind of telling us how Sarah's breathing new life into McQueen, I mean, it's not as dark as what we're used to seeing from Lee and overall the collection was alot happier and playful :P
Anyways, I'm rambling now, I loved the collection ;)
I actually think the hair is quite cute, I mean crazy YES! I don't think I'd ever wear it, but as a Model I think it fits with the clothes. I still miss Mr. McQueen though... =(
ReplyDeleteAnd Release Party..Oh yeah!! ;DD
It's a fabulous collection. Not him, but close enough. When I looked at your first set of pix with the models side by side, I hated the hair. Hated it. But when I looked at the pix following, I began to change my mind a bit. Not right for these clothes, but kinda cool after all.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting. Great job!!!!
the new collection is good, it still reflects his style to some extent
ReplyDeletei really like it, specially the details! it's a great collection and we can see the spirit of alexander mcqueen
