Hi y’all!
Thank you to all of you who completed the Pre-Cycle task! Because there wasn’t a high volume of sign-ups as last time, everyone who signed up is allowed to participate in the Cycle, so congrats! All of your entries were nice but I do want to say to everyone that you shouldn’t be afraid to take a risk in this cycle. We want you to put your best foot forward and be rewarded for doing so. This is why the cycle is set up the way it is, so take risks!
You can refer to the rules of the cycle here!
I was shooting ideas off of Jane for different first task ideas and she told me they were all bad. She then came up with this idea…
Planetarium
In our Solar System there are a total of 8 planets that are recognized, although I still think we should add Pluto back. These plants are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Each planet has it’s own unique characteristics ultimately giving them their unique colors. For this task, you must pick one of the 8 planets and create an outfit.
Although it is easy to just make an outfit including pieces with the colors, get creative! Maybe attempt to include key features of the planets. Try layering or resizing out! Step outside of the box.
For this task you must include: The name of your planet (5pts) , a brief description of how the planet is represented in your outfit (5pts) , and an outfit (20pts total).
Outfits use to be worth 10 points however I figured that having 20 points would allow for judges to go more in-depth with your outfits.
10 points will be for the cohesiveness of your outfit. Are the colors found on the planet represented? Do the colors within the outfit match one another? Do the pieces you choose match one another? Overall does outfit come together?
10 points will be left up for creativity. Did you step outside of the box? Is there detail in your outfit? Are there accessories to fully complete the outfit?
We want you all to push yourselves! I will try to have an example outfit posted by the end of Monday!
This task will close next Saturday, July 13th at 11:59PM EST.
At that time a poll will go up and the next task will be posted. Feedback will be sent to everyone within the following days.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
-Alex
