LONDON FASHION WEEK SS 2015 RECAP (I)

London, here we come! *get your umbrellas*

DAY 1

Ok, so I was surprised when I saw that there were no really known names scheduled for the first day. But... they were all so good it was really hard to pick which ones to show you!

I completely fell in love with the designs, most of them in black and white. I can guess who is going to be the "inspiration" for Zara next summer.

Ming Pin Tien                                                                                                              Jena. Theo
Those headpieces looked gorgeous,                                                            Something indispensable to get the London look
and the tops are to die for!                                                               is the relaxed fit, and it's even better with abstract prints

                                                                Jean Pierre Braganza                                                                                                    Amanda Wakeley
Black and white perfection. In times like this, the song If I was a rich girl                                              When you make a full white collection,
by Gwen Stefani starts playing... really loud.                                                                          there's no better way to take advantage
                                                                                                                                                                                                          than mesh.

Fyodor Golan                                                                             Paul Costelloe                                         Christopher Raeburn
Crazy fabrics from time to time never go wrong...                                       The cutest hairstyle ever!                     I'm in love with thisgirly raincoat!
but am I the only one who thinks the models are a bit scary?
They look like me when I wake up...

On the first day we also had the presentation of McQ, full with metallic and knitted fabrics.

 DAY 2

KTZ                                                  Holly Fulton                                            Julien Macdonald                                        Markus Lupfer
Dark sequins and textures,                      A remake of the 60s looks.                         With a lot of detailing,                          Print sweatshirts for the win!
perfect collection for nights out.                                                                                elegance and bodycon dresses.

Sibling                                                JW Anderson                                                    Saloni                                                   Orla Kiely
Bows and oversized shapes,                 All I can thnk about is how much          That messy bob cut looks gorgeous!               Isn't the background cute?
have a look to get some inspiration        that hat reminds me of Darth Vader              The colorful geometric print                      Pastel tones are making its
on how to wear DVF/Callie's Picks bow.           and how perfect that dress is.                         made it even better                                way again!

Jasper Conran                                                   Whistles                                              Lulu & Co                                            Emilia Wickstead
Loving those prints!            What's better tan layering with cut out fabrics?          Really fun prints and sneakers.               V-necks and a silky feel
House of Holland
Printmania goes on in this new collection, adding a 90s feel to it. Short dresses, denim jackets, printed tees... and the sunglasses! After all, House of Holland sunglasses are always really popular, and I wouldn't expect less from those mirrored ones.
In the front row, Alexa Chung (third picture), MIA (last picture) and Rita Ora were the stars.

Marchesa
Better known as embroidered breathtaking dresses making. It didn't disappoint at all, and I'm sure Stardoll will take into account those gowns with a gipsy inspiration.
In the front row, the it girl Olivia Palermo and Anna Wintour (with her daughter) were looking forward the collection.

DAY 3

Matthew Williamson                                Temperley London                                   Mary Katrantzou                                        David Koma
Full of flowy skirts with dark details.    Amazing bicolor prints and loads of kimonos.   Playing with textures and simple shapes.   Straps made this collection look fab!

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi                                Lulu Liu                                                Richard Nicoll                                       Marios Schwab
Mixed prints looked awesome.       Inpired by aliens pastels look much better.         Simplicity and color playing.                        All about the silhoutte.

Topshop Unique
It's not London Fashion Week if the most known English model friends are not seen in Topshop. Yes, I'm talking about Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn, who have been told being the next Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. Sporty chic looks are taking over next summer!

Mulberry
Neutral colors and oversized tops at its best. No doubt those purses, Mulberry strongest point, won't be unnoticed!
The background was just perfect for the presentation.

DAY 4

MAntonio Berardi                                                                             Erdem                                                                              Michael Van Der Ham
Oversized coats and sequins all over!                        Detailed fabrics with embellishments and a lot of new shapes.                      This collection is just so chic...

                                        Issa                                                                                    Huishan Zhang                                          Peter Pilotto
I'm in love with those floral prints in black and white.                                              All about textures!                        The prints were just mesmerizing.
Christopher Kane
Using a dark color scheme, the result couldn't be better. Mesh panels, tulle skirts, geometric prints...
Burberry Prorsum
I'm sure this collection took everyone by surprise... leaving the classic design aside, sporty footwear and transparencies were present in the whole collection.
Kate Moss along with Mario Testino (yes, the famous photographer) and Cara Delevingne were some of the VIP in the front row.
I highly recommend watching it here.
Tell us about your favourite ones!

  1. Alexa Chung always looks so pretty. From all these new designs, her coat is still one of my favorite items, lols.

Now, to get serious my favorite pieces would be Paul Costelloe's coat and the whole Holly Futon's outfit you showed us. I'm kind of hard to please, as I don't like prints, cut outs and bunch of other stuff, but these made some pieces that are amazing. There's other nice stuff as well. I'd love if Stardoll did a shop based on these.

Btw, I love these articles and you do an amazing job, Agnes. You're amazing. :)

  2. London was much better than NY for me this year. I love 60s inspired clothes. My favorite shows were Temperley London, which is always one of my favorite - I think I could wear all of this clothes. <3 I love Saloni colors and hairstyles which I'd gladly have on sd. Katranzou and Erdem suprised me in positive way. I love their collection. Some of the Christopher Kane looks are great. But there was one show I was disappointed a lot: Burberry, which was always one of the best designers- this time it looks a liittle kitsh: jeans jacket with this "fur" reminds me of the ugly kind of clothes people wore in the time I was a child, then the insects prints... The only thing I really love is the "scales" skirt.

  3. First I have to say that my favorite is your comments on each collection. Your knowledge of fashion really shows itself with those comments.
Second, I'd have to say my favorite is Christopher Kane--except for that first thing, which I guess is a suit.
Almost all of it was great! People I've never heard of who are designing cool, chic things!!

  5. I couldn't decide if I prefer NY or London, but there were a lot more of fashion shows for LFW!
I'm sure that some of them will be in Stardoll next summer, and I would like them all *.*
Burberry was really different from previous collections, I was really shocked. I personally love the dresses and the skirts, those jackets are not really my style but Burberry fashion shows are always so amazing that I couldn't consider anything ugly *ugh*

  6. Thank you, that means a lot! I try my best to keep up with the fashion scene :)
I loved the third one from Christopher Kane, the collection was really beautiful! The truth is that I never heard of about 70% of them hahaha
Most of them are new to LFW or have been for few years! But I've already took note of some names that I won't forget, like Jean Pierre Braganza, which is one of my favourites.
