This Sunday is all about music! Thanks to LadyAnneLena for the idea.
Today is International Strange Music Day, which was created by Patrick Grant, a New York City musician. The premise is simple: to get people to play and listen to different types of music they have never experienced before. The ‘strange’ part can mean either unfamiliar or bizarre, the choice is entirely yours. Patrick believes broadening people’s musical spectrums can also change the way we look at other aspects of life: his mantra is ‘listening without prejudice’.
The task for the Theme Day will be simple:
Create an outfit in honor of a musician you admire.
We're all into different genres when it comes to music, so why not recommend each other some great new sounds to try? :) Take a screenshot of your outfit and post pic in the comments. Also, I'd like you to describe who inspired you, or maybe you could write a short preview of the music they do, this way we can attain more interest :)

I tried to make Ryan Tedder outfit. It was quite dificult because in Starplaza there aren´t so many boy's clothes. He is the singer of the band "OneRepublic", which is a rock/pop band from Colorado. I'm ImSoofy05

ReplyDeleteI love music but I like only few solo artist. My insp.is Florence Welsh from Florence + The Machine. I like hers song and his voice is so powerful when she sing that's makes me chill - in contrary her normal voice is so soft - . I like her style too and love that she doesn't mind when she is criticed for wearing theatrical things.

Outfit inspired by Lana del Rey, I love her music and her style because is really simple but always beautiful. Her music is different from the others type, you can love it or hate it and I LOVE IT. Someone find her songs "depressed" but I don't think so, they makes me always happy :) I suggest you the songs Video Games and Brooklyn Baby, difficult to choose because are all wonderful! Hope you like it :)

ReplyDeleteMy idol is Ariana Grande,a R&B singer with an AMAZING voice and that can hit the highest note in singing.A lot of people are insulting her for being fake and for "copying Mariah Carey".She was an actress at Nickelodeon in the shows "Victorious" and "Sam & Cat".I love her because she is really beautiful,talented and for who she is.I got inspired by her song "Problem" .

It's very simple but very hard to find appropriate clothes in Stardoll as apparently, and a bit to my surprise, the famous "Le Smoking" by Yves St. Laurent has not arrived to Stardoll...and after all those tributes...oh well...!
Here is my Katy Perry inspired look. She is my favorite artist at the moment. I absolutely love her music and her crazy fashion style. I really admire how she makes a constant effort to impress and shock :)
ReplyDeleteSince it is strange music day I thought I would do a singer whos music might be considered strange. I did G-Dragon who is he lead of Big Bang. Big Bang is a kpop group that I freaking love. I kind of meshed two outfits of his together and I got this. I kind of failed but whatever. :p

However I choosed an artist i love her music is different from everyone elses some cnsider it strange but i think its soo cool because its different. One of my favourite singers is Lana del Rey. I was between her and Lady Gaga as they both have kinda eccentric styles and unique ways of singing. Anyway, I chose to recreate Lana's style in "Born to die" music video firstly because I prefer indie pop than pop and also because it was the first song of hers that I listened to, which actually made me fall in love with her music. So in my oppinion you guys should check out some of her songs like: born to die,gods and monsters,video games,body electric,west coast and ultraviolence and I am sure you won't disagree about her being a pop queen! :)

ReplyDeleteI chose to replicate one of my biggest idols, Amanda Palmer. She is an outspoken feminist and defender of human rights, she is loud, fearless, beautiful, so so kind to her fans and everyone, really, and someone I'm really inspired by. ReplyDeleteI've noticed that everyone has been doing solo artists, or singers of bands so I decided to go off the beaten path and made mine based off of one of my favorite bassists/guitarists, Mikey Way. He's an inspiration to me because he's been through a lot I have been and survived it all. In May, I was lucky enough to meet him. I talked to him and told him how him as well as his band had helped me not only with my depression by giving me something else to focus on but as well as gave me the guts to decide that I would pursue my dream of being a musician. When I told him about my "addiction" to hurting myself, he looked me in the eyes and made me swear to him that I would stop self harming. He also told me that if I ever felt like I was going to relapse, to contact him and he would reply as soon as he could to help me through it. When he told me this, I was fighting off a bad relapse which I didn't tell him about, so he did this on his own free will because he actually cares about his fans. His old band, My Chemical Romance, did break up, but prior to that they played punk rock music. They weren't punk to the point of screaming, but they were still punk. His new band, Electric Century, only has one song out currently, and I'm not sure what genre it would be considered, maybe alternative rock, I don't know but I really like it. I did the Black Parade era from around 2006 because I already had the jacket and it was by far one of my favorite eras of the band and of Mikey.
