New StarDesign item + Summer Heat news

We've seen this jacket before in the spoilers and it has arrived, thanks to lahurina for letting us know. The price is 11$ and it can be found on the 4th page of the StarDesign catalog. The texture is very nice, I'll probably buy it in various colors.

Do you like it as well? Feel free to share how you would wear it :)

Anyway, the 3rd prize of the thermometer was unlocked and the number of Superstars needed for the 4th was revealed... 40.000 purchases in 5 days? SEROUSLY?!

Farewell, McQueen rewards...

  1. stardoll is getting outrageous!! they need to re-think about this... many people may not be able to buy SS membership and here they are trying to push it.

  2. Wow, that's quite a lot... There was a probability that people will buy ss when they realise we have chances to get clothes. But now? We'll definetely won't make it work, no chances. Although I'll still join, even for those 15% more

  3. och, and I really like jacket but I don't think I'll design anything, it's just I don't wear jackets/coats a lot

  4. Thats ridiculous. I really dont like how they are pushing us to buy ss. Alot of people cant buy it. I would rather spend what little money I do get on books, not on stardoll. And for the Jacket.. I prefer longer kind of loose jackets. I dont think I will buy it.

  5. Am I the only one here who actually wishes people wouldn't bother to purchase superstar just for this campaign?
I think it's super greedy and I was pretty surprised to see the number of people purchasing membership, judging by the way the thermometer goes up. I think that Stardoll should stop money-grabbing that much, it's annoying and I am pretty sure that a lot of people are fed up, too.

  6. We have been holding out, but now we are broke so we have to :(

  7. the jacket looks cute :) and about the thermometer.. it's ridiculous ¬.¬ why has stardoll become so greedy for? -.-

  8. I really don't understand how this 15 Days of summer heat works

  9. Totally agree, it was ok when ss memberships costed 2€ or something like that, but now it's way more expensive, the stardollars are not enough for the prices they put and wth, I'd rather spend my money on my studies, which are not cheap at all!

  10. Maybe it's because Stardoll has decided to release all tribute stores and new items these weeks and there's no way you can afford that without buying ss (well, for those who don't have 12/6 months memberships), not for the campaign. But I totally agree with the money-grabbing part. It's really upsetting...

  11. I'm surprised so many of us have bought SS in order to get the thermometer to 15% more Stardollars. Oh, and I love the jacket and really appreciate the heads up on it.

  12. Do the accounts on automatic refill count towards the thermometer when they refill?

  13. I haven't given up hoping yet. I hope that many members are waiting till the last day to make a purchase..
And I'm sure that one way or another we will get the gifts. If it's not through the thermometer, I think that Stardoll won't waste them and sell them in a store release.

  14. Really nice jacket!
Well, for the summer heat, like say before, its becoming more and more unrealistic! -_-

The jacket is so cool,I've been waiting for designs like that for ages :D (thanks for the credit Brigitte)
And the Summer Heat?Absolute RIP OFF!How many ways can you find Stardoll to have our money?
    Just poor and low -.-

  16. I like this jacket, I have some pant suits I want to make with it.
As for Summer Heat, I think people fail to realize that Stardoll is not just a game, it's also a business, and it takes money to run the site.
Stardoll is simply trying to make more money, just like every other business. It's a sales gimmick, and it works. Frankly, I'm only buying an extension of my SS because I want to, not because of the prizes.

  17. I couldn't agree more with you!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think they should. But who knows what stardoll thinks?

not a fan of the jacket. Doubt the final level of Summer Heat will be reached, maybe stardoll will be generous anyway?

  20. Who even writes the polls on Stardoll? A five year old?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I agree, but I mean, they could still lower their standards a bit.

  22. Didn't it say somewhere that it was only new purchases? I have no idea, but I swear I've read that somewhere..

  24. im mad, IT IS NOT JULY 4th!

  25. It works like this
    1. Entise us with mmcqueen items that will never happen
    2. We spend our money
    3. They get riiiich

  26. What is Stardoll thinking? O-O 40K purchases in 5 days?!! Are they out of their mind. I'm just going to say, that Stardoll's goal is DEFINITELY 20% because I have sent them a few questions about summer heat and every time they said "Let's say we reach 20%" like honestly.. If we do reach that goal my mind will be BLOWN.

  27. Callie was drunk and today isn't even the 4th of july lol

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wish to charge ss but my husband refused...
the jaket is nice but expensive

    ReplyDelete
  29. And they wrote "indipendence" instead of "independence" º_o
I think Stardoll started celebrating early and already had "a few too many"....

    ReplyDelete
  30. But if you think about, automatic refills are new purchases as we pay for another SS month each month, the only difference is that we don´t need to put our information again as they make it automaticly

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am thinking exactly the same Jenna :) But even this way it is impossible to complete the thermometer, right?

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's a nice jacket! :D I actually wish it fit a little looser! :P Anywho!
Also the whole ss and topping up and whatnot.... good luck stardoll, you tried. I wish I had some room in my budget to buy, but it's just not working haha. Also never been ss and done just fine. :P I wonder if Stardoll will fake some of the accounts being done? Hm... I also wonder how many people would actually participate if the numbers would have been a bit lower...

    ReplyDelete
  33. hahahve this too much. Obviously ahem, someone had a few too many while writing this, or was just too exhausted. Isn't stardoll corp located in...? Another country? lol. I'm thinking they must have their dates wrong or something. lol. This is too funny though. As someone who spent 6 years on a middleschool-Highschool and above Newspaper... I can honestly say the kids had better writing and reviewing skills than Stardoll. LOL. :P OH goodness, haha

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think that a lot of members wouldn't buy ss if they thought they wouldn't reach the two items, I feel like the idea should have been better thought out.

I hope stardoll sells these items if they don't end up being for ss. But.... We'll see, stardoll is getting stingy.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hope after this campaign they start to rethink things, they should do a survey like they used to so long ago. Asking what people want, how they can improve, and that sort of thing, also how likely people are to buy ss, because a lot of members won't. Stardoll offers new members the day after they join to buy ss for $1, if they can manage that.... what's stopping them from being a little more realistic with other things.... hm...

I'm pretty sure stardoll makes more than enough to run their business, the website and pay their employees.

  36. Posted this down below but I thought I would post it here with my original note.:

I'm pretty sure stardoll makes more than enough to run their business, the website and pay their employees.

Edit: This website shows some of their information.... How much the website is worth, stats and how many visitors per day in average they have. Also shows that they run from Stockholm which could explain today's poll, lol. Link: http://www.mustat.com/stardoll.com
On a side note, Stardoll is just a little over 10 years old, and Stardoll didn't celebrate? If that doesn't say something....

2nd edit: Not like it really matters... lol. but I had some spare time on my hands and I just realized, holy cows, Stardoll is pushing out quite a bit of money a year. If you think about the cost of their 4 servers, paying their employees, office supplies and technical fixes etc, water, electricity, complex costs, ad costs, They pay out roughly between 40 and 45 million a year. It took me back a little, this isn't including, payments for tributes and things like that (since I'm not to sure how those would work out) or travel expenses and that sort of thing.... Not defending them, they make plenty of that back, if not triple it or whatever... just pretty crazy to think about.

Also on the same note, suppose that since there is about 320 million members, even if just 1 million of them bought a year of ss, Stardoll just received 60 million back, making about 17 million in additional revenue beyond paying their employees and montly/yearly costs....

Anyway, I don't do enough math... :P It was sort of fun though.... this is also how I realize I miss being in High School a little bit. haha.

  37. Cute jacket. Seriously? 40 000 ss

  38. The jacket is super cute! Really excited!

  39. I mean, I understand but seeing from their Instagram pictures, they have good offices, great supplies and it doesn't look like an average office. I am just greatly disappointed of the fact that my mom works for 12 hours a day, quickly sewuing very little details for lingerie and although my mom makes about 800$ a month, I see people doing better whilst they're sipping coffee and just chattering up about the latest fashion trends.

    ReplyDelete
  40. This made me laugh pretty hard, haha!
It was probably a typo, though. And if not, can't blame them, sometimes people make mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  41. You sure? The letters 'e' and 'i' aren't really that close to each other on the keyboard haha

    ReplyDelete
  42. They have an office in Sweden and an office in London, if I'm correct? I know that they definitely have an office in London. So, if I'm right about that, then there's not really any reason for the errors/timezone confusion.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think so, that is what I thought at least. Do they have anything in California? I feel like there might even be 3 offices.... That is probably why there was a time zone error at least. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I agree. It makes me kind of sick. Your mom works hard, and deserves more recognition and money for her time, I'm sorry to hear that. Supposedly they redid their office a while back. There was a contest on Stardoll and they posted pics of it... it's kind of wasteful a little bit. It's just really really sad to see that much money being dumped.... Although I guess all big businesses do it... :\

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't remember anyone ever saying there was an office in California. Is Stardoll really big enough of a company to have three offices?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think that it's happening all over the world, just people being unfair all the time. But what can we do? We do support them by buying membership and they can't give us anything more than virtual pixel clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  47. agreed! They really only provide entertainment, and are getting lots out of it! Pretty crazy to think about! :P

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yeah! And that's how business works!
Somebody has a pretty small but genius idea, finds a team, makes it real, commercializes, gets a community who buys and supports the project and over time, if the project has been successful and appealing to the masses, you get rich!
An excellent example is Kickstarter, a project funding website. The main ideas is pretty simple, people fund projects made by other people (books, games, movies, etc) and out of all the cash donated, a certain percentage stays for the Kickstarter team. Now, imagine, there have been several projects who had gotten millions of dollars funded. Those guys who made Kickstarter were swimming in cash, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  49. haha! YES! Pretty sure the kickstarter people are swimming in cash for sure!! That's a pretty great website though! Some very interesting projects on there!
Businesses are booming for a reason. :) haha! :)

  50. I feel the same way! I used to have brilliant 2am thoughts so random and write them down, like they were something spectacular, and then wake up the next day to find out it was something like... "Flowers for pocket?! Woah! Cool!" Literally, haha! <3 I keep a journal by the bed anyway since I write novels, but I think I should stop writing great insane business ideas, hahaha!!!
