There is new Young Hollywood in the Starplaza. I'm excited because this is a first for me. What do you think of the dresses?
REAL VERSIONS:
Naomi Campbell - Givenchy dress
Georgia May Jagger - Thiery Mugler dress
Liu Wen - Zac Posen
Thanks to USD for some of the RL version info
Hmm... I don't think I'll buy any since I don't try to collect these kinds of items but the Naomi gown looks pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteI SO KNEW that they would release a collection after the MET gala! However I don't like these dresses, they could have had better choices because there were lots of other gorgeous gowns on the red carped!
ReplyDeleteEmorox4eva/Jenna I posted at the post about HB shirt, the real versions of them,ok?
ReplyDeleteGeorgia May Jagger in Thierry Mugler dress, Liu Wen in Zac Posen and Naomi Campbell in Givenchy
I knew they would release it, and I really liked the first and second dress so I bought them. What kinda confuses me is that it is not limited? Maybe it's just a glitch.
ReplyDelete@Ms.Brigitte , I just posted the real version of them with the designers, ok? Hope you can use them at the inspired By :)
ReplyDeleteBought them all, as I usually do with mini YH collections like this one. They tend to get really popular later.
ReplyDeleteI think this collection is great for people who collect shops stuff, but for me - no. Prices is too expensive :(
ReplyDeleteI personally prefer the Thierry Mugler, but I would've loved the second in it's original RL colour, the teal green. Baby pink just doesn't cut it for me. All in all I don't find any of them all that stunning and especially with that price. Agreeing with @Smiliuxxx :/
ReplyDeleteThe pink dress is just amazing! Unfortunately, I cannot afford it, I just bought the shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteme too
ReplyDeleteThanks Sofia
ReplyDeleteGeorgia is beautiful, and her RL dress too, but Stardoll just made a mess with these dresses, in my opinion...
ReplyDeleteI definitely don't like them as much as previous collections I've seen, but I will prob never have them so I'm settling. lol
ReplyDeleteYes, thanks :D
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame :c Actually looking at them now, the first one is rather pretty if it didn't have the fluffiness xD
ReplyDeleteThe Mugler dress is very undetailed!
ReplyDeleteYou're right. It's just matte black :/
ReplyDeleteThey will probably improve that later.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame. Looking at them again, the Givency is rather pretty if it didn't have the fluffiness. If it were more like the RL, without the feathery trim around the bottom. Can't tell from the picture whether the fluffy sleeve thingies (technical term) are attached to the dress or just extra sleeves, but if Stardoll had made them as a separate item you could create a lot more with that dress...
ReplyDeleteThe teal version is amazing! I hate this Barbie pink color.
ReplyDeleteExactly, that pink color was not a good choice :(
ReplyDeleteI wish that Stardoll had kept the real color too, it would be so more elegant, right?
Down with pink! What is it with Stardoll making everything pink? I normally don't have a problem with the colour but if they were struggling to make the gown different for copyright issues or whatever they could've gone white, or that navy/royal blue like on the lagoon dress we were discussing :c
ReplyDeleteSo much more so. It's not even a sophisticated pink, it could've been fushia or an incredibly light pink like the Givency. As @Ms.Brigitte says it's Barbie.
ReplyDeleteThey're attached..
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this new collection
ReplyDeleteActually I feel good now for not having the urge of buying expensive things :D If it was white or blue I would be in an uncomfortable situation :D
ReplyDeleteOh well ;D
ReplyDeleteHahaha, yes, I feel you Miss B! Gosh what a state we'd be in ;D
ReplyDeleteAhhh thank you for informing me :D is anything left to buy? I'm on the phone rn so I can't see :)
ReplyDeleteMore than half of each item's stock is available :)
ReplyDeleteThe truth has been said...
ReplyDeleteMy personal favourite is the Naomi dress. Maybe the Liu dress too, but I prefer the real life color of it.
ReplyDeletedun dun duuun
ReplyDeleteI feel compelled to agree & also this is my point of view too; the Liu dress looked way better in its original colour. The teal green was beautiful, but the Barbie pink wasn't a smart choice...
ReplyDeleteAhaha, you're so right!
ReplyDeleteThat's right; Stardoll should have made two items when they recreated the dress and the... erm... fluffy thing. I think it could have been obvious that maybe members would only want the dress... and optionally the fluffy-thingy....
ReplyDeleteYup. It's a shame. There are so many other more beautiful colours they could've picked too :c
ReplyDeleteI don't know who would've bought the fluffy thing though, it is rather fluffy...and I can't think of what else you could do with it xD
ReplyDeleteThe Naomi gown is my favorite too; my 2nd favourite is the Liu gown, but sadly, Stardoll made it pink... I like better the teal colour, oh my, it was so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes! The real life versions look so nice, and, even though I can not afford any of the stardoll version items, I would not buy them even if I could... Givenchy dress looks bad because of the stardoll bandana around our chest, and the barbie dress is awfully pink... :(
ReplyDelete:D
ReplyDeleteAhahahah xD This is so accurate!
ReplyDeleteBrigitte you wonderful thing. That's it.
ReplyDeleteEXPLOSION OF MEMES WILL BE USED FROM NOW ON. Prepare yourselves.
I dont like this collection, I bought only the shoes, which are really pretty.
ReplyDeletebtw there is a missed "h" in Givenchy. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is not my style, especially not the bright pink dress in the middle. They're way too overpriced for me also. Does anyone know if this collection is limited or not?
ReplyDeletestardoll is for girls and the colour of young girls is PINK!!!
ReplyDeletenothing else....
so you know why most of the thinks are here pink!!!
They've just made it limited now. All items seem to be around the halfway mark at the moment, bar the shoes that are a little under
ReplyDeleteWe're hating on the pink colour choice below if you fancy joining in ;)
...and dying over the fluffy arm-thing :D
ReplyDeleteI wish Stardoll made Rihanna's dress.Or Cara Delevigne's outfit. Or Amber Heard's Giambattista Valli dress. I really liked those.
ReplyDeleteI love the Sarah Jessica Parker dress it was flawless i wanted that
ReplyDeleteOh my....... SO PRETTY
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeletesorry typo I was in a rush
ReplyDeletePink was boy colour until the world war I. The war and later feminists made pink their colour, not to mention that pink became easier to produce, so mass clothes now where pink, not white. Blue, as being the colour for school uniforms, became more serious, why pink became not taken seriously.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, for most girls (both in 0-18y and all ages) their favourite colour is blue.
The dress looked gorgeous on Naomi, but I've tried it on my doll and it didn't look as good :(
ReplyDeleteI would've bought Georgia's dress but the graphics were so poor! Seriously, in comparation to the other two dresses, that one looks terrible! And stardoll also covered up the legs with that pink part, they should've just made the "back part" of the dress, you know, the part behind the legs and just leave the front open.
Oh Liu's dress is beautiful, it's princess like! I wish it was in that colour and not pink tho... And it goes all the way to the doll's shoulders and makes the doll have large shoulders... Oh well...
I think it's an awesome collection if you take out the pink dress. I bought the Naomi Gown but I'm struggling to make it fit with my doll's body :'c
ReplyDeleteThose prices! /o\ Guess it's only to be expected though. And love some of the dresses too considering it's the first time I've seen this store.
ReplyDeleteExactly! And charge 100+ for those graphics? Nope! ^^'
ReplyDeleteAgreed, I'm also out of SD but wouldn't buy them anyway.. Maybe the Naomi Dress if the "fluffy" part was separated..
ReplyDeletewhat's up with those graphics? the left and right dresses especially look very flat and poorly made.. the middle one is the best, if only it was in a different color!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the price is not reasonable at all, no matter if the item is pretty or not... but this... I don't know... I don't think it's really worth even half the price.
ReplyDeleteThat was actually a really fun, interesting comment. I guess you learn something new every day!
ReplyDeleteI think a darker pink would've been great but this tone just can't be matched with everything... I think a navy blue or a wine red color would've been the best for this dress.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Also, the black dress just looks really flat... I think they went wrong with the color of the pink dress, the Naomi gown is pretty good but the black one is just badly designed. But in my opinion, collectors won't really care, as there will be people who will pay a lot for these dresses.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this is all we're getting - just these 3 dresses... It's a little disappointing since none of these were really that good...
ReplyDeleteYes, the "shine" in the black dress shouldn't be there... A lot of people collect these "mini" YH collections and this is a good buy for them, because I think people will want them in the future. But the last Oscars Collection was way better...
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think most of the time in only to wait for them to become
ReplyDeletewanted. But if I could, I'd try to collect Chanel *-* And I really hope
Stardoll doesn't decide to re-release YH, LE and stuff like that.. I
don't have many, but that would be really unfair.
I think black one is the only poorly made tho.
ReplyDeleteWaht a mess Stardoll made with the Thierry Mugler dress! A flat, detail-lacking mess indeed! And why, oh why do they keep coloring everything pink???!!! I would love to know what criteria Stardoll uses to choose which dress they r going to replicate or not - there r at least 10 dresses I can put before these 3 which r prettier and more fashionable (ok, and more to my liking ;p) And the colors? Have I mentioned how much I hate those colors? LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm going to post my fav dresses from the Gala - apologies if u have seen this on USD already but I find Stardoll choices really annoying...!
IM IN LOVE someone pinch meh!
ReplyDeletei think they are nice but the black dress is poorly made
ReplyDeletein real life the prices are most likely heart stopping so yah, hahahaha
ReplyDeleteomg the pink Liu gown is my FAVE
ReplyDeletewhat i want that one so badly though
ReplyDeletemaybe you can get it for me, my username is missfoxyroxy913 it is in my wishlist.... just kidding hahaha
ReplyDeletesame
ReplyDeleteOMG AGREEEEEEED!!!!!
ReplyDeleteriiiiiiight

ReplyDeletei do too
ReplyDeletenah
ReplyDeletei want the lui dress so baaad
ReplyDeletemy fave is Lui dress
ReplyDeletenot for stardoll.. I stay here nearly 8 years and stardoll fav. colour is pink.. this was also in paperdollheaven and think about the layout we got here..pink in arts..... so for stardolli t´s pink..light or dark piggy or purple.. pink .....
ReplyDeletestardool shoud make a LE collection with this dresses
ReplyDeletehere are some of my fav´s
and those of MissLadyAnjah
I liked the pink and beige/peachy dress :) The black one doesn't look nice on the doll in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree!
ReplyDeleteThe pink dress is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Rihanna outfit was my favorite. <3
ReplyDeleteFor me they should make it in original color. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really like the top and colour of the pink one, and the flat one just looks awful. I'd totally have bought the Naomi dress, if it wasn't so expensive >.<
ReplyDeleteYou're right it doesn't, but I bought it so I guess I better wear it :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite one is the Marchesa Spring 2011 gown in a floral-painted greyish-blue worn by Karolina Kurkova, it is absolutelly stunning.
ReplyDeleteThe other one that I love is the Oscar De La Renta worn by Taylor Swift, it is gorgeous too :) But I think Stardoll will make a mess doing them, right?
I love the pink one but it should of been the original blue.
ReplyDeleteThe prices aren't too bad. I've spent more on smaller LE dresses before when they were released in Starplaza.
ReplyDeleteAh, maybe it's because I've never seen anything this expensive on Stardoll then :p The most expensive thing a few years back probably was LE so this is new to me! Not a SS right now anyway so not like it affects me hugely :p
ReplyDeleteThey should have made a Stardoll version of the dress Lupita Nyong'o wore.
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are too plain though. They don't push limits. They don't innovate.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to assume Stardoll has at least 10+ graphic designers (this is assuming they've got a similar amount of staff as other similar sites).
ReplyDeleteI remember a collection from 2012 where I bought three short LE dresses for 200sd each. These prices are alright in comparison.
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes, yes!
ReplyDeleteThis would've been a great release and something worth buying! It's very detailed, unusual and if they would remake it with quality, I'd actually be interested in buying it!
Actually, the historically correct reason why we associate pink as being a female colour is because during WWII in the German concentration camps, they used to put little pink triangles on the shirts of homosexual prisoners to be able to identify them easier. The reason we associate pink with females is because people didn't want men to share similarities with the prisoners. The world literally associates blue as a boys colour and pink as a girls colour because of Hitler, and that's just really bloody stupid.
ReplyDeleteOh, man, I think there was a second season of Chanel tribute. I got pretty much everything (if not everything completely) from the first season because they were actually good but I am a little sad I wasn't around in Stardoll during the launch of any other tributes. I've seen the Chanel Holiday tribute but the graphics were really terrible and I'd probably only buy those items because they may become rare.
ReplyDeletewell, what can say. they are good
ReplyDeleteThey look nice, prices are affordable I believe. If I were ss, I'd buy the black one!
ReplyDeleteI don't like any of the dresses. There were so many much more beautiful ones, I have no idea why they chose those horrible ones and why they had to change the colour what make the dress even worse in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteWell, if we filter the starplaza clothing section, blue still beats pink (not to mention black or white). But that's not the point. The point is, pink is a strong color, and in my opinion, stardoll often makes really nice pieces in terribly pink color, and this is not even the worst case. And doing this disagrees with marketing. Like, everyone always talks about stardoll wanting our money, but if so many people dislikes the color, they dont want to buy it, they spend less stardollars, so, they dont need to buy more so soon.
ReplyDeleteP.S. just read it trought, I hope I dont sound though, I'm just discussing (people often say that I sound angry ;D )
Knew that, but I dont consider that as the only reason (nor the main). You know, homosexuals are oftenKnew that, but I dont consider that as the only reason (nor the main). You know, homosexuals are often called blue, but does people stop making their babyboys wear blue? :) called blue, but does people stop making their babyboys wear blue? :)
ReplyDeleteOh I adore the Dior that Charlize Theron's wearing. It's so elegant and classy!
ReplyDeleteOh oh oh yes! I love that, utterly utterly agreeing with @mailgirl101 too! Yes.
ReplyDeleteOh my god. I didn't know this.
ReplyDeleteI mean when it comes down to it, they are just colours but...makes you think
No no, I love discussions like this, in general people can take these far too seriously ;)
ReplyDeleteOh so agree. Really don't understand they're train of thought. We wouldn't be discussing colours in the first place if they hadn't so drastically changed from the RL. But it's almost like they're being lazy. As if they're go to is pink if they can't think of any other colour. It's such a shame as it's the best designed of the three and such a stunning RL dress, it's so unique and such a BIG bold statement but even if I did have the stardollars to pay for it I wouldn't. In that pink I cannot think of any way I could dress it up and look classy. All I see is Barbie.
YES. Sarah Jessica Parker looks stunning and Victoria Beckham's is so simple but so elegant and oh how I would've bought that in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful! She is a great actress!
ReplyDeleteThat would make such a great collection
ReplyDeleteI love Hailee Steinfield's dress.. black and white is so classic
ReplyDeleteSo elaborate!
ReplyDeleteYea... I'm kind of unimpressed
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Pink dress is so beautiful
ReplyDeleteThere's a different meaning behind that though, plus, it doesn't happen worldwide, unlike the pink=girls/blue=boys thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd it leaves us, stardoll users, being hipsters. "Why always pink? Too mainstream!" XD
ReplyDeleteGah that evil word! Hahaha xD
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful
ReplyDelete
