Katharine Houghton Hepburn

Katharine Houghton Hepburn (May 12, 1907 – June 29, 2003) was an American actress of film, stage, and television. Raised in Connecticut by wealthy parents, Hepburn turned to acting after graduation. Favorable reviews of her work on stage in 1932 brought her to the notice of Hollywood. After a few early film successes, including her first Academy Award, for Morning Glory, Hepburn endured a string of flops, which led to her being voted "box office poison".

On June 29, 2003, Hepburn died of natural causes at Fenwick, the Hepburn family home in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. She was 96 years old, and was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Connecticut in the family plot. In honor of her extensive theater work, the lights of Broadway were dimmed for an hour.

  3. Katharine Hepburn, as she is best known was nicknamed "First Lady of Cinema". She was a magnificent actress and a role model for women everywhere. (no relation to Audrey :)

Next time you profile an actress try looking up their IMDb bio, far more complete and trustworthy. Maybe you would recognise some of her movies...and with 12 Oscar noms and 4 wins Kate deserves far better :)
Btw, it's not a critic just a small advise. I love yr posts and appreciate yr effort to take us closer to some of the ppl Stardoll decides we should "play with" :)

  4. She was one of theose great old time Hollywood stars, that pave the road for others. I like her a lot, she is one of those forgotten stars along with Lena Horne. I'm a little shock most don't know her. And no they're not related, lol.
