OMG! McQueen Dead at 40!

Alexander Mcqueen died today. This is so sad and such a loss. The fashion industry and the world will grieve. Thanks Zanilde, Rihannyx for letting me know. RIP. You will be missed.


WEAR AN ALEXANDER MCQUEEN INSPIRED OUTFIT TODAY/TOMORROW IN HONOR OF HIM AND LET ME KNOW IN MY GB!
LONDON – British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead at his London home. McQueen has taken his own life at age 40. His office confirmed his death, saying: 'It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.' This after the death of his mother on Feb 2nd.

Known for his dramatic statement pieces and impeccable tailoring, McQueen received recognition from Queen Elizabeth II in 2003, when she made him a Commander of the British Empire for his fashion leadership.

“McQueen influenced a whole generation of designers. His brilliant imagination knew no bounds as he conjured up collection after collection of extraordinary designs,” said Alexandra Shulman, the editor of British Vogue.

“At one level he was a master of the fantastic, creating astounding fashions shows that mixed design, technology and performance and on another he was a modern day genius whose gothic aesthetic was adopted by women the world over.”

    I can't believe it either.
    And he always seemed so happy. I've got a pair of his shoes in rl. I'm gonna be wearing them for the valentine's day (I can't really wear them for school :/)

    Oh my goodness!!!!! I cannot believe what I just read. He was too young and talented to die. I think he had a really hard time accepting his mother's death and he just couldn't bear it. He was one of my favorite designers. Let the legend live on!

    I couldn't breathe when my sister had told me that McQueen died. He was one of my favourites, and it was actually my dream to meet him someday, but I can't.
