NYFW SS 2015 Recap (I)

DAY 1

Starting off New York Fashion Week is BCBGMAXAZRIA, with a fabulous collection full of flowing movement with 5 AM by Kwamie Liv as soundtrack.

We can see pastels are back for good, combinated in floral prints and subtle patterns. No doubt there's some inspiration coming from traditional kimonos and its prints.

The key to BCBGMAXAZRIA looks are mid length skirts, ankle boots with metal heels and cut out backs.

The two beauties Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars and Jamie Chung from Once Upon A Time were sitting on the front row. And their outfits were amazing!

You can watch the runway video here.

Everyone knows that Desigual = fun. I don't know how popular this brand is worldwide, but I can assure you there's a store in every corner all around Barcelona! Their fashion shows are known by their crazy patterns, informal feeling (smiles, throwing kisses, winks, awkward dances... you must watch here) and Victoria's secret models. Adriana Lima was, of course, the star of this show.

NYFW 2013 New Designer to watch Marissa Webb happens to be a style icon herself. J.Crew's ex-Head of Women's Design and currently Creative Director of Gap Inc and Executive Vice President of Design for Banana Republic is relatively new to the NYFW scene, but her classic designs are making a huge impact. DAY 2

Rebecca Minkoff didn't disappoint as well, joining the pastel trend. Elegant and silky designs accesorized with tassels clutches and floppy hats are the main attraction. This collection also included some outfits to wear on a night out (they represented that by literally turning the lights off...) click here to see the fashion show including a live performance of Little Daylight.

DAY 3

Starting the day with a very colorful collection was Mara Hoffman. The collection, full of all kinds of prints, included some swimwear too. Wide leg pants, cut out dresses and caps are the key for next summer outfits!

With some amazing bodycon dresses as always, Hervé Léger by Max Azria found inspiration in Japan. And well, sparkly embroidered dresses to die for are present too. You must check the full collection here, all the outfits were amazing!

It's not really difficult to recognize Alexander Wang's designs. The minimalistic and futuristic feeling was very present with this new collection full of masterpieces. Let's see what he's planning for his collaboration with H&M...

Which are your favourites?

Can't wait to see the results of the Project Runway show. I know one person who goes to the finals by looking on instagram (not gonna spoil it)

I also found these shoes by Christian Siriano, and I la-la-love them! I really hope to see something like these on stardoll.

Also his whole SS15, I adore. Love the blues and all the details, would love to see on stardoll but they would probably change the colors.

My favorite collection from the ones above is Mara Hoffman but from the 1st half of NYFW they are Gary Graham and Coach. I think my taste in fashion is a bit unorthodox ;)

BCBG is amazing! I'm in love with their collections ever since I wore their dress, and it was beyond gorgeous. I remember not knowing that it was expensive, I was only 14 years old haha

As I promised myself I try to watch as much fashion show as I can, even this less popular. I must say I'm not a huge fan of NY shows, they're not my style, but from those you mentioned my favorite is the first dress from Mara Hoffman. I like some of the Wang's pieces (haha you picked all my favorites except the first dress), but for me he does every season the same things. And about his collaboration with H&M, maybe you've seen Rihanna's outfit from this collection. For me it's awful! I hate leggings worn as trousers. I hope rest of this collection won't be so awful.

JosephinaA said...

Wow, you got to wear BCBG? That's amazing!

Hehe what a coincidence! I wouldn't have thought he would include so many bodycon dresses and fitted pieces. That's huge change for me, I don't see similarity with the last ss show, for example, but maybe it's because I really love his designs xD

I didn't know she was wearing AW x H&M o.o
Not my style at all, but I hope the whole collection won't be like that! Even though it was announced that it would be really sporty...

*I attach a picture in case anyone is interested in commenting about this*

I wouldn't even call it style, it looks like my home/illness outfit. 😊 And this logo everywhere. Just like you,I wanted some sporty, but in style of his own collections.

I'm not sure if you seen it, but Vogue published some photos from H&M/Wang lookbook and it's very sporty. Check this.
